After fifteen good years in Verrières le Buisson, space limitations combined with an ever-expanding workforce mean it is time to move on. Company President Jani Soderhall summarised the feelings of the team:

[2010-11-05] PC PAL are pleased to announce a collaboration with lead Belgian statistician Mathieu Roelants in a project to develop a Belgian version of GrowthXP using the Flemish growth charts published in 2004.
[2010-09-01] We are delighted to welcome engineering graduate Johan Olsson to PC PAL. A specialist in signal processing, Johan will be based in the Stockholm office and work on automated software testing within our software Quality and Validation team. Although not a requirement in the validation process we believe that automated testing is a great way to complement manual testing and make sure that routines are tested for every single build, whether destined for production or not.
[2010-09-09] With the ongoing focus on nutrition in early childhood, the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published a new directive for following infant growth. These recommend that the height and weight of all US children in the 0–2 year age range are now monitored using WHO growth standards replacing the US CDC references formerly used. For the present, juveniles in the 2–0 year age range will continue to be monitored using the current CDC charts.

has been maintained and EHR vendors are invited to contact us to discuss our component solution for growth calculations and CDC/WHO charts.

"Since this program was first introduced we've seen an increase in requests for our component and sales are increasing which confirms we've got just the right product for US EHR needs" he continues.
[2010-06-22] After exhaustive evaluation of candidate software solutions, Texas Department of State Health Services has selected PC PAL's GrowthXP to monitor the growth and nutritional status of the 350,000 infants attending WIC (Women, Infants and Children) clinics throughout the state. The software will be installed in 700 locations throughout the entire state of Texas.
[2010-05-12] Historically EHR's have been considered outside the remit of the Medical Device Directive but with ever-increasing system integration, concerns about safety, confidentiality, and patient trust are being raised. In a wide-ranging discussion, the Swedish Medical Device Technology Forum has called for updated definitions and a consistent Europe/Worldwide control mechanism to be implemented.

[2010-06-10] At the National Auxology Conference held in Rotterdam on June 10th, teams led by Yvonne Schönbeck and Stef van Buuren presented the latest growth data and chart formats to the 400 participants. Following a session on electronic chart implementation comparing GrowthXP with the current software, it was announced that PC PAL will develop a Netherland version incorporating the new data.

[2010-08-25] The ever increasing focus on BMI as the principle indicator of excess weight is being demonstrated in sales of GrowthXP to nutritionists in US. Reflecting the interest shown by this user group, PC PAL designers have added the functionality to manage adult weight issues in the forthcoming GrowthXP version 2.
[2010-04-16] As part of a program to inform the public about Sweden's largest solar cell installation, PC PAL Media have developed a street side digital display showing how much energy is produced instantaneously; since the start of the year; and from the opening of the facility in 2009. In the next phase, this data will be made available to everyone via the web and provide a valuable project resource for schools.

[2010-02-08] With the growing focus on optimal growth patterns in pre-school children, and obesity concerns in 5-18 year olds, leading Canadian national health groups are to replace U.S. CDC charts with WHO based versions. Following the UK adoption of WHO standards in 2009, confirming the increasing popularity of this growth reference set, PC PAL will shortly launch an electronic version in the new UK chart format.
