PC PAL will be exhibiting at the 64th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE), taking place from 8–10 September 2026 in Marseille, France.
The meeting brings together specialists from across paediatric endocrinology to share developments in research and clinical practice. For PC PAL, it is an important opportunity to engage with the clinical and scientific community and to discuss developments in paediatric growth assessment and charting.
Growth charts and standard deviation scores (SDS) are important tools in the assessment and monitoring of children and adolescents. However, interpreting measurements at the extreme ends of the distribution can present particular challenges, including when monitoring the rising number of patients with severe obesity.
PC PAL will present a poster exploring a pragmatic approach to this issue: A new BMI chart to mitigate the LMS ballooning phenomenon in UK90 growth charts (P1333). The presentation addresses the behaviour of UK90 reference curves at very high BMI values and seeks to improve the clinical interpretability of measurements at the extreme end of the distribution.
PC PAL continually monitors developments in paediatric growth assessment in order to guide the ongoing development of the GrowthXP suite of digital growth-charting software. By incorporating advances in growth assessment into its software, PC PAL aims to provide clinicians with tools that support accurate interpretation of growth measurements and informed clinical decision making.
